There has been a church building on the site of the present St Michael’s church since Norman times, the present octagonal building was designed by Thomas Telford and built in 1796.
The main time for worship at St.Michael's Church is 10.00am every Sunday morning. Digital projection is regularly used during worship to visually present hymns and sometimes to enable PowerPoint presentations or DVD clips to be enjoyed during worship. All hymns and songs can also be followed by those who prefer to make use of hymn books. The music chosen for worship includes a mix of the best of traditional hymns and present day songs.
Worship takes place morning at 10.00am and evening at 6.30pm every Sunday (except duing August - morning service only).
We are fortunate that a wide cross section of the community are regular members of our fellowship and worshippers on Sundays. In the morning service it is common for there to be 60 adults and 10 children at St.Michael's, and in the evening 20 adults.
Refreshments are served after the morning service and worshippers are encouraged to stay and enjoy fellowship together.
Youngsters and families are warmly invited to worship on Sundays. There is a creche in the church for the very young, and older children enjoy getting together every other Sunday at their regular Sunday Club meeting nearby in the Madeley Rest Room.
